Today is the last day of the Delta Stays MQD promotion. Now is a great time to use your Delta Stays credits.
Delta has launched a promotion that allows you to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars in addition to the miles you normally earn by booking hotels, car rentals, and vacation rentals through Delta stays. Bookings must be made by February 16, 2025 and travel must be completed by September 13, 2026.
Promotion details
When you book a qualifying car rental, hotel stay, or vacation rental through Delta Stays, you’ll receive Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) in addition to the miles you would normally earn.
- Travel must be booked before February 16, 2026.
- Travel must be completed by September 13, 2026.
- Applies to car rental, hotel, and vacation rental bookings booked through Delta Stays. (Does not include bookings through Delta Vacations or Delta Cruises.)
- Earn 1 MQD per $1, based on the base rate (excluding taxes, fees, and miles redeemed).
- Allow up to 8 weeks after travel for the MQDs and miles to be posted into your account.
My take: This is the best time to use your Delta Stays credits
I don’t generally pay attention to the Delta Stays portal other than using it to capture the value of the Delta Stays credits on my two Platinum-level Delta credit cards.
That said, if you care at all about Medallion status, you should at least consider taking advantage of this promotion.
This is probably the best time to book through the Delta Stays portal to get your Delta Stays credits. I generally prefer making the bookings to earn my Delta Stays credits earlier in the year so I can forget about this benefit.
If you’ve already earned the Delta Stays credits on your Delta credit cards this year and all you care about is Medallion status, I’d wait until later in the year to book through Delta Stays. It is highly likely that Delta will run a similar promotion in the fall—and by that time, you’ll likely know how many additional MQDs you’ll need to get the status level you want.
And if you don’t care about medallion status, you can ignore this promotion.
Delta Stays MQD Promotion history: Generally twice a year
Looking at the history of this promotion gives us a pretty good indication that Delta intends to run this promotion twice a year—once early in the year and once in the fall.
