Marriott credit card offers: New, better standard offers on Amex personal cards

June 19, 2026: Just a quick update today. The Amex Marriott business card’s limited-time offer was scheduled to end on June 15th. The offer has been extended.

Amex has ended its limited-time offers on the personal Marriott cards, but there’s an interesting development. The new “business as usual” bonuses appear to how have two tiers, allowing you to earn additional bonus points with additional spending. This is an improvement. See my take on this below.

Also, the offer on the business card has changed to points plus a statement credit, rather than free night certificates.

Here are details on the best current offers on Marriott credit cards.

My take: Interesting (and good) development on the Amex personal offers

I’m usually not terribly excited to update this page when the limited-time offers revert back to their “business as usual” offers and I was especially disappointed to see the “as high as” language added to the Marriott offers. But this wasn’t as it seemed at first glance.

Amex is now offering a two-tiered bonus on its personal Marriott credit cards, meaning that you’ll get a set amount of bonus points after an initial spending requirements, and then you’ll get an additional amount of points with additional spending.

Now, I’ve historically not been a fan of the way some of these types of bonuses are implemented and marketed, (see my commentary on the Hyatt card bonuses) but I actually like what Amex has done here. Here’s why.

First, the two-tiered bonus is only additive. The first tier of the bonus matches the previous “business as usual” offers on both of these cards, so if you were only able to spend that much on the card, you are no worse off than you were previously. And if you are willing to spend more on the card, you get more.

Second, the marketing language is clear. Prefacing the headline number with “as high as” makes sense in this case and I think strikes a balance between promoting the higher number and being clear that there are some terms that need to be dug into.

So kudos to Amex for this updated welcome offer format. This is one that I genuinely hope to see on more cards.
