U.S. Bank Cash+ increased bonus: Earn $250

The U.S. Bank Cash+® Visa Signature® Card currently has an increased welcome offer. This offer is $50 better than the previous offer we saw, and it matches the best offer we’ve seen on this card recently. Here are the details.

Quick take: Great bonus on a highly useful card

First, on the offer… $250 after spending $1,000 is a good new cardmember offer, no matter how you look at it. Sure, it’s not the highest offer you’ll find out there and it does not require the least spending of any offer in this category, but on the whole it’s definitely worthy of being on my top offers page.

What really makes this card special is that it offers 5% cash back on a limited amount of spending each quarter in two categories that you can choose and that are relatively useful and unique. This means that this card can increase the rewards you earn while not adding a bunch of complexity to your wallet. I like that.

And this card avoids one of the most annoying things about U.S. Bank cards. With many of U.S. Bank’s cash back cards, you’ll only receive the maximum value for your cash back rewards if you redeem your rewards for a deposit into a U.S. Bank checking account. I get it—U.S. Bank wants to incentivize you to ALSO get a deposit account—but this is an annoying hoop to jump through. Fortunately, the Cash+ card allow you to redeem your rewards for a statement credit—for full value—for now.
