Chase has released the 5% rotating categories for the Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex cards for the second quarter (April – June) of 2026. Here they are:
- Amazon
- Chase Travel
- Donations to Feeding America
Quick take: Meh. Amazon may be useful for some

Overall, this quarter’s Chase Freedom categories aren’t interesting to me. I have the Amazon Prime Visa for its 5% cash back at Amazon as a Prime member. And I haven’t historically made donations to Feeding America.
What really confuses me about this quarter’s categories is the inclusion of Chase Travel as a category bonus. After all, the Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex already earn 5% cash back on these purchases. Maybe there’s something I’m missing, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any marginal value here.
That said, there’s possibly some use for you in this quarter’s categories if you’re NOT an Amazon Prime member and want to use the card for that. Outside of that, the value of these quarterly categories is pretty limited.
In every case, I’ve activated my Freedom cards, but I probably won’t spend a single cent on the cards this quarter.
