My take: The business card is the bonus to get
The United℠ Business Card is the only United card with a current increased bonus offer, so that’s the one I’d get if I were going after a bonus to earn United Airlines miles.
Of course, if you’ve got a premium credit card in the Chase Ultimate Rewards® ecosystem, like the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve, you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to United. This means that the welcome offers on the Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card and Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card can both become United Mileage Plus miles. Plus, these two cards have no annual fees.
With the exception of the United Gateway℠ Card, which it seems Chase has decided to , it might be worthwhile to wait on apply for any of the other United cards. There’s a good chance that you can earn some more miles if you wait. Chase seems to run limited-time offers on these cards every few months.
Are you eligible to earn a United MileagePlus bonus?
All of the United credit cards have language in their offer terms and conditions that restricts you from getting the card if you currently hold the card or if you’ve received a new cardmember bonus within the previous 24 months.
Chase doesn’t consider other cards within the United credit card family when assessing bonus eligibility. For example, holding a United Club℠ Infinite Card wouldn’t prevent you from earning a bonus on a United℠ Explorer Card.
