Chase has a new limited-time offer on the Freedom Unlimited® card that earns 50% more bonus cash back than the standard offer. If you’re thinking about getting this card, this is a great time to do that.
Chase Freedom Unlimited®
Earn a $300 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
This bonus is marketed as cash back, but is awarded as Ultimate Rewards points.
Chase often offers better in-branch bonuses on this card that you won’t see online.
Annual fee: $0

My take: $300 after $500 is one of the best low-effort bonuses.

Chase has played around with the offer on this card a few times. Honestly, I think that the best offer they’ve ever had on this card was when they were giving $200 after $500 of spend, plus 5% cash back on up to $12,000 of gas and grocery spending in the first year. That offer might be available in branch from time-to-time, but there’s no guarantee that it’s ever coming back.
That said, $300 after $500 of spending is a freaking fantastic offer… and on a great card, to boot! If you were thinking of applying for the Freedom Unlimited online, now is a great time to do that. I don’t expect that this increased offer will last more than about a month.
Alone, the Freedom Unlimited® is a good card for ongoing spending but it’s pairing the card with other cards in the Chase Ultimate Rewards® ecosystem that makes the card a great card. That’s because, Chase Ultimate Rewards points (the points your Freedom Unlimited earns behind the scenes) can be moved between your Chase cards.
When you move your points a premium Ultimate Rewards card, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, or Chase Ink Business Preferred, you can then use them for premium travel redemptions like travel through Chase Travel at 25%-50% more value or for transfers to airline and hotel programs—which are the path toward high-value premium travel redemptions.
Other offers that might be available
We want you to get the best offer, so here are some of the other offers that might be available on this card.
- In-branch offers: Chase frequently runs in-branch exclusive bonus offers on this card. When we visited a branch on 6/28/25, we confirmed an in-branch offer featuring 5% rewards on up to $12,000 of combined gas and grocery purchases in your first year.
- Referral offers: Historically, when Chase has had increased limited-time bonuses on this card, those stuck around for a few days through referral links after they were pulled publicly. Keep this in mind if you just missed a larger bonus on this card in the future.
