The Platinum Card® from American Express

$25 monthly Digital Entertainment Credits

Up to $25 in statement credits each month (Up to $300 annually) when you use your Platinum Card® for eligible purchases including Disney+, a Disney+ bundle, ESPN+ streaming services, and Hulu.

If you don’t have one of these cards, your next-best choice for your Disney+ subscription is a card that earns a high rate of rewards on streaming services, or a card that earns 2% cash back rewards everywhere.

To subscribe standalone or not?

If you subscribe to Disney+ (or Hulu or ESPN+) as a standalone service, it almost certainly makes sense to pick up at least the Blue Cash Everyday card for its Disney+ credit.

But many cell phone companies and cable providers offer bundles including Disney+ that might make more sense for you, even after considering credits that you can earn with one of these cards.

However, be aware that not every bundled deal is a good deal when you consider the cost of the total package. If you’re getting Disney+ for $10 a month with your cell phone plan, but you’re spending $50/month more than you have to to stay with the provider who gives you a deal on Disney+… well, then you’re not really getting a good deal.

Which card I use for my Disney+ subscription

Aaron Hurd, Executive Editor of Cards and Points

I use my Blue Cash Preferred card to pay for my family’s Disney+ subscription and earn $10 every month without even thinking about it. The $120 in statement credits I get from the card’s Disney+ credits more than pays for the card’s annual fee—on a purchase that I am going to make anyway.

Even before putting the Disney+ subscription on the Blue Cash Preferred, the card has long been my go-to card for purchases at U.S. supermarkets. The amount I earned in cash back over and above what I could earn with a no-annual-fee card, for me, justified the annual fee.

So now I’m getting even more value from the card.

Now, I could get my entire Disney+ subscription paid for (yes, we subscribe to the cheap one) by putting it on my Platinum card, but that card’s digital entertainment credit covers other services that I subscribe to, so I’m optimizing the benefits across all of my cards by putting the Disney+ subscription on my Blue Cash Preferred.

Bottom line: A handful of credit cards offer a credit for the Disney Bundle credit

If you subscribe to Disney+ and pay for it directly, getting either the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express or the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express will almost certainly pay off, thanks to both cards’ credits for eligible Disney Bundle subscriptions.
