Chase Freedom Flex® sign-up bonus: Earn $200

The Chase Freedom Flex® has one of the easiest sign-up bonuses to earn and the card is incredibly useful if you’re collecting Ultimate Rewards® points, thanks to its 5% rotating categories.

Here is the best public welcome bonus currently available on the Freedom Flex. Scroll down for more on in-branch and previous bonuses.

Our take: What we think of the Freedom Flex welcome bonus

The $200 after $500 of spending bonus on the Chase Freedom Flex® is a good bonus for a no-annual-fee credit card. And the Freedom Flex is a great card to have if you like chasing after 5% bonus categories.

But there’s sometimes an even better bonus on this card.

Chase has occasionally offered an in-branch exclusive bonus on this card that awarded the standard $200 after $500 of spending in three months but stacked a 5% cash back on gas and groceries offer on top of that. At the time of our last update, this offer wasn’t available in branch, but it might be worth visiting your local Chase branch to check if this offer is available.

Of course, if we confirm that this offer is available again, we’ll publish that on our site.

Are you eligible to earn the sign-up bonus?

You are typically eligible to receive a sign-up bonus on the Chase Freedom Flex card if you don’t currently have the card and it’s been more than 24 months since you’ve gotten a bonus on this card. Here’s what the offer terms and conditions say:

This product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months.

Other offers that might be available

It is our policy to link to the best public offer we know about, but there are sometimes better offers on this card that are in-branch exclusives or targeted offers.

  • In-branch offers: In the past few years, Chase has occasionally had an in-branch exclusive offer on this card that offered 5% cash back on up to $12,000 in gas and grocery store spending in the first year. When we last checked on 6/28/25, Chase had a similar offer on the Freedom Unlimited card, but you could only get the standard offer on the Freedom Flex in-branch.
  • Historical experimental offers: For a brief period in 2024, Chase seemed to be experimenting with variations on its $200 after $500, plus 5% on gas and groceries offer. One variant even offered up to 10% on up to $12,000 of groceries in the first year. But these offers haven’t been available for a while and we don’t expect them to return.
  • Referral offers: Historically, when Chase has had increased limited-time bonuses on this card, those stuck around for a few days through referral links after they were pulled publicly. Keep this in mind if you just missed a larger bonus on this card in the future.
