Chase has launched a (slightly) increased offer on the Ink Business Preferred® credit card. This offer matches the best bonus we’ve seen in approximately the last year and a half.
Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card Welcome Offer
Earn 100,000 bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after account opening.
This bonus is awarded as Ultimate Rewards® points.
Annual fee: $95

My take: Great bonus and good time to get the card

While the 100,000 point offer on the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card isn’t the largest bonus ever on this card, it’s the largest bonus we’ve seen in quite a while. Few cards with this level of annual fee will offer as many points. While we’ve seen 120k offers within the recent past, there’s no guarantee that those offers will return any time soon.
The Ink Preferred is a great alternative to the Chase Sapphire Preferred for small business owners. It offers similar travel protections and you’ll actually earn more points on your travel—at least on up to $150,000 you spend on travel during the year. And it usually offers a much larger welcome bonus.
But before you apply, be aware that Chase recently added some restrictions on who could earn the card’s welcome bonus. We’ve got more on this below, but the tl;dr version is that you can’t get the bonus if you’ve ever had the card before.
Of course, no bonus eligibility restrictions are better than any eligibility restrictions, but I do think that the restrictions are largely fair. It doesn’t make sense for Chase to give out the sign up bonus to cardmembers who repeatedly open and close the same card. And I’ll give credit for not doing what they did with the no-annual fee Chase Ink Cash and Chase Ink Unlimited bonuses. (Those cards prevent you from earning the bonus if you’ve had either card.) However, I do think that restricting a bonus to once every 4 years, as Citi does with many of its cards is a better approach.
Are you eligible to earn the sign-up bonus?
Chase recently added restrictions to its sign-up bonus eligibility across its business card lineup. The short version is that you may not be eligible for a bonus on this card if you’ve ever had the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card before. Here’s the text of the terms:
The new cardmember bonus may not be available to you if you have ever had this card. We may also consider factors pertinent to your business in determining your bonus eligibility.
Chase Ink Business Preferred® offer terms
This differs from the offer terms of the Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited sign-up bonuses in that only your previous Ink Preferred card will explicitly impact your bonus. Of course the “factors pertinent to your business” gives Chase plenty of wiggle room to deny you a bonus for whatever reason they deem appropriate, so your mileage may vary.
Fortunately, there are reports over on Reddit that Chase is popping up a notification to people that it deems ineligible for the bonus. While I’m not a fan of restricting bonus eligibility across card categories, I do think that this is the most consumer-friendly way of going about it.
Other offers that might be available
We want you to get the best offer, so here are some of the other offers that might be available on this card.
- In-branch offers: Chase occasionally has in-branch exclusive offers on some of its cards. We don’t know of any current in-branch offers. When we visited a branch on 6/28/25, we confirmed that there were no in-branch offers available on this card.
- Referral offers: Historically, when Chase has had increased limited-time bonuses on this card, those stuck around for a few days through referral links after they were pulled publicly. Keep this in mind if you just missed a larger bonus on this card in the future.
A few things to know before applying:
- Chase Ink cards don’t impact 5/24. Historically, Chase wouldn’t approve you for a new card if you had 5 or more new accounts on your personal credit report within the last 24 months. Chase Ink cards don’t report to your personal credit report (as long as you pay on time) and therefore won’t impact your 5/24 status.
- Chase Ink cards (kind of) are subject to 5/24 restrictions. While opening a Chase Ink card won’t count against your 5/24 status, Chase is unlikely to approve you if you have 5 or more cards opened and reporting to your personal credit report within the last 24 moths. However, this rule appears to be a bit more flexible for Ink cards than Chase’s other cards, according to some reports on Reddit and elsewhere.
- You likely can get a small business card. You probably have a business and are eligible to get a small business credit card. Even small businesses like selling things on eBay or hobbies you are trying to monetize count.
