My take on the best Hyatt credit card welcome bonuses
The recently-ended welcome bonus on the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card was the best we had seen in a while. I’d still prefer that card’s standard bonus over the personal card’s because earning it is more straightforward.
On the personal card, you’ll only get part of the bonus for spending a certain amount on the card. The second half of the bonus is meted out as “2 Bonus points per $1 spent” on up to $15,000 of spending in the first 6 months. (Normally, this is 1 extra point per $1 spent, so the current offer is better than what was offered historically.)
The small business card is the better welcome offer. But personally, I prefer the World of Hyatt Credit Card (personal version) for its annual category 1-4 free night certificate.

Our take on the welcome bonus: We really like Hyatt points—they are some of the most valuable hotel points you can earn. But we don’t like how the World of Hyatt Credit Card structures its welcome bonus. A large part of the bonus is earned as an effective 3x rewards on the first $15,000 of spending on the card.
