Other ways to get the card with a bonus

The current Ink Business Cash® Credit Card online bonus offer is the best welcome bonus available on the card. However, you don’t have to apply online. Here are some other ways to get this card:

  • Personal referral links. Most Chase cards, including Chase Ink business cards have the ability to generate referral links. If you use an Ink referral link from a friend or family member, they can earn points when you get the card. Learn more about referring a friend to Chase.
  • In-branch offers. Chase occasionally offers increased sign-up bonuses in branch when you apply directly with a Chase banker. We visited a Chase branch in early May 2024 and found that there was no increased in-branch offer available.

Increased in-branch offers: None currently available

On May 30, 2024, we confirmed with a Chase banker that there are no increased in-branch sign-up bonuses on the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card. The bonuses you’ll find in a Chase bank branch will offer the same number of points and the same terms as the bonuses you’ll find online.

About the Chase Ink Business Cash®

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is a great choice for small business owners who spend a lot on its bonus categories, including office supply stores; internet, cable and phone services; gas stations; and restaurants.

With the Ink Cash, you’ll earn Ultimate Rewards® points, which makes the card an excellent companion to both the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. The Ink Unlimited will get you better rewards on purchases “everywhere else” and the Ink Preferred earns better rewards on travel and opens up additional opportunities to redeem all of your points for more value through Chase Travel or transfers to travel partners.

My take on the Chase Ink Business Cash® welcome bonus

When welcome bonuses become easier to earn, that’s unambiguously a good thing. And Chase’s changes to one of the best Ultimate Rewards® welcome bonuses makes the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card welcome bonus even easier to earn than ever.

Chase made the bonus easier to earn by splitting the spending requirements. You earn $350 after spending $3,000 within 3 months and then another $400 after spending a total of $6,000 within 6 months. (Previously, you needed to spend the full $6,000 within 3 months to earn a $750 bonus.)

Earning $750 after spending a total of $6,000 is a great welcome offer, full stop. But what makes this bonus especially compelling is that the Ink Business Cash card earns Ultimate Rewards® points behind the scenes. That means that you can transfer your points to premium cards like the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card or the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and use the premium redemption options available on those cards for more value.

But the welcome bonus gets better: 10% relationship bonus

As if the positive change to the welcome offer weren’t enough. Chase now includes a 10% relationship bonus to small business owners who also have a Chase Business Banking Checking account. If you have both accounts open, you can qualify to get a bonus of 10% of the points you earned from spending in the first 12 billing cycles of having the card.

This can add up to a ton of points if you’re a small business owner who spend a lot on your Ink cards. Depending on how much you spend on your Ink card, this could be considered the best-ever offer on the Chase Ink Cash card.

Yes, you can get a small business credit card!

My business (this blog, writing, and consulting) means I can get a small business credit card. But you likely qualify for a small business credit card, even if you work for someone else. Even if you sell things online or on Facebook marketplace occasionally, you probably have a business and can are eligible to get a small business credit card. A hobby that you’re trying to monetize (even a small one) can be a small business!

For my small business, the 5% I earn on the first $25,000 of combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable, and phone services comes in handy.

10% relationship bonus points after 12 billing cycles

In addition to the card’s welcome bonus, Chase is offering a 10% relationship bonus to new Chase Ink Business Card holders who also have a Chase Business Banking Checking account. At the end of your 12th Chase Ink billing cycle, if you are eligible, you’ll receive an additional 10% bonus based on the cash back you earned (excluding the welcome bonus) during your first cardmember year.

How to qualify for the 10% relationship welcome bonus

Here’s what you need to do to qualify for the 10% relationship bonus:

  • Open a Chase Ink Business Cash card between 3/17/2024 and 11/17/2024.
  • Be an owner of an eligible Chase Business Banking Checking account.
  • Your Chase Ink Business Cash card must be open and not in default.
  • Your Business Banking Checking account must be open at the end of your 12th monthly Chase Ink Business Cash card billing cycle.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will receive a one-time bonus equal to 10% of the cash back rewards you earned during the first 12 billing cycles you had the card. This includes the total cash back you earned from spending on the card, including the cash back you earned from bonus categories like office supply stores. You won’t, however, earn a 10% bonus on the rewards you earned from the card’s welcome bonus.

A few notes on applying for Chase cards

  • 5/24 rule. Chase generally won’t approve you if your credit report is showing 5 or more new credit card accounts opened in the last 24 months. This rule is knows as the 5/24 rule. If you’re unsure if you are “under 5/24” you should check your 5/24 status before applying for a Chase card. Note that recently this rule seems to have softened, especially for Ink cards. See our coverage about Chase 5/24 for more.
  • Only one Sapphire-branded card. You can only hold one Chase Sapphire-branded card at a time. This means you can have either a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or a Chase Sapphire Reserve®, but not both.
  • You can get a welcome bonus on a Chase card, even if you’ve had the card previously. How often you can earn a welcome bonus on a Chase card varies by card family.
    • Most cards allow you to earn a welcome bonus if it has been at least 24 months since your last received a welcome bonus on the same card.
    • Chase Sapphire-branded cards, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you can only earn a welcome bonus once every 48 months. (We published a separate article to help you determine if you can get a Sapphire welcome bonus.)
    • Marriott cards have their own special rules.
  • Chase will match an increased bonus. If you apply for a Chase card and the bank offers a higher bonus within 90 days, you can send Chase a secure message or call them to have your welcome offer matched.
  • In-branch offers are sometimes better. Chase sometimes has better credit card welcome offers in-branch than it will publish on its own website or through affiliate networks. Check all channels to make sure you’re getting the best bonus.
  • Chase business cards do not report to personal credit reports and do not impact your 5/24 status as long as they are current.
